Community Works Re-Use Store

The home of Community Work's trading activities

In August 2018 The Clock launched a new venture and started trading using the brand name Clock Works This brand allowed us to identify and promote the trading activity our charity is now undertaking. After the merger of The Clock and Thirsk Community Care it has become Community Works Re-Use Store. All of the activity will be answering a need we have identified through engagement with our community.

Re-Use Store and Workshop

Our store in Thirsk is gratefully accepting donations of good condition, re-usable items including:

  • Household Furniture and items
  • Bicycles
  • School Uniform

We aim to collect and sell these items _for the benefit of our local community – reducing waste, pollution and providing access to low cost items to anyone who wants to buy them.

We are very grateful for donations of furniture that is in good or excellent re-saleable condition. It must be clean, free of rips, tears, stains, odours, damage, damp, rust, pet damage, hairs and be fully functioning.

We also welcome donations of appliances and other electrical household items (with UK plugs on) which are suitable for re-use. They must be fully functioning, undamaged, clean and in good saleable condition.

Community Workshop

The Workshop is a community space where volunteers can come along to either share their time and skills or learn from others. It is a place to socialise whilst developing and honing skills- working on practical projects including repair and refurbishment of furniture and bicycles, which are sold to and re-used by local people.

Community RePaint

Paint is a way to save money and reduce waste. We stock lots of excellent paint in pots that are either nearly full or half full and you only pay a few pounds per litre. We stock all your favourites; Dulux, Farrow and Ball, Crown as well as generic brands.

Items in high demand are:

Beds and Mattresses; Sofas and Armchairs; Drawers, Wardrobes, Bedside Cabinets; TV Units/stands; Bookcases; Pine Furniture (including Dressers); Coffee Tables, Dining Tables and Chairs; Dressing tables and desks; Mirrors, modern wall art, canvases; Fridges and Freezers; Tumble Driers; Kettles; Electric Ovens; Lamps; Side Tables.

If you would like to donate an item please call Community Works on 01845 524 494 and we will put you through to the shop
