Chief Executive Officer
We are recruiting an inspirational and dedicated Chief Executive to manage the organisation and enable it to fulfil its charitable objectives. Community Works delivers a wide range of services for people of ages ranging from work with young people, to groups and services for adults and support services for older people.
Based in North Yorkshire in the beautiful market town of Thirsk. The purpose of the Chief Executive is to manage and build a high performing and motivated staff team, generate income, ensure project and service plans are successfully implemented, measure the impact of the charity’s work whilst managing external stakeholders, and, confidentially representing the charity in a diversity of settings.
This coveted position involves line management of two Senior Managers and a number of other staff relating to specific projects. You will also have financial accountability for c£1m annual income generation and management.
Salary £48- £52K

Operations Manager
The Operations Manager provides operational leadership for a range of programmes delivered in North Yorkshire but predominantly in Thirsk.
The Operations Manager will have particular responsibility for the Disabled Children and Young People’s Play Scheme which involves managing delivery of the programme and the programme coordinators.
This is an exciting and varied role for you to really make your mark and involves the following:
- Leading in the recruitment of staff & volunteers,
- Encouraging a team environment,
- Ensuring all programmes and projects have an agreed work plan which include actions to support stakeholder management
- Attending contract meetings and lead large partnership meetings on programmes and projects
Salary £37-38K

Youth Work Coordinator
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Youth Work Coordinator. The post has several key responsibilities:
- To plan, co-ordinate and deliver high quality youth work sessions for children and young people in Thirsk, Northallerton and Stokesley
- To deliver individual 121 support sessions for children and young people of both primary and secondary school age, through referrals made by Broadacres.
- Support existing volunteer youth workers.
- To lead on Community Works’ activity programmes for children and young people
- To secure additional resources to complement the projects
This post has been funded by Broadacres since 2015 and is currently funded until March 2024. Our Youth Clubs are as follows:
- Thirsk 4pm-6.30pm
- Stokesley 4pm-5.30pm
- Northallerton 4pm -5.30pm

Playworker
Genuine Zero Hours Contracts for Saturdays and School Holidays - working with disabled children on a one to one basis helping them to play. Hours are 5.5 a day and are based in Northallerton.
