Business Admin Apprenticeships

We have two exciting apprenticeships in Business Admin. Both will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of Community Works by providing administrative support to our staff and projects.  Both post holders will have opportunities to take the lead on projects in order to develop a wide range of skills.

Post One – we’re looking for a practical young person to work on our Enterprise projects such as upcycling bikes or refurbishing furniture

Post Two – we need an ultra-organised young person to take responsibility for room booking and ensuring that training and meetings run smoothly

Closing Date 12 noon 15th October 2020

On average these apprenticeships are for 12 months.

Enterprise Coordinator

Community Works runs a number of social enterprises including our Reuse Store and Pop-Up Shop. We are looking for a practical person to join our team at an exciting time as we open our workshop. The post holder will help us set up the workshop and develop our recycling enterprises such as bike recycling and furniture upcycling which run from our workshop. The Enterprise Coordinator will:

  • lead small groups of young people and adults who want to learn new skills
  • facilitate sessions for young people and adults to share their skills with others

All recycled items will be sold in our Reuse Store and profits made will be used to support our services. 

Closing Date 12 noon 21st October 2020

Fixed Term until 31st March 2021

Key Worker

The aim of this role is to support the most disadvantaged adults who are furthest away from the labour market and who experience significant barriers to work by supporting the individual to address barriers to work and improving financial skills. This role is part funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Fund

The following are duties and responsibilities which specifically relate to the ATI role.

  • To develop positive relationships with individuals, which promote their personal and social development and which widen their experiences and horizons
  • To enable the adults to identify their needs and plan support to meet those needs using the full range of options including family, friends and community support.
  • To help the adults to establish possible benefit entitlement and make claims as appropriate and understand benefit decisions and challenge as necessary
  • Take responsibility for managing a caseload which will include individuals who require intensive support and guidance.
  • To maintain accurate, up to date records

 Closing Date 12 noon Tuesday 13th October 2020

This is a two year post based in Thirsk working across Hambleton
